Love their Happy Hour!! Half priced drafts, signature drinks and apps! 3:00 - 6:00 PM Their smoked fish dip is so good!! Bartenders are nice and prompt. And beautiful view over looking the boat marina!

This is my new favorite coastal restaurant. Located on the Intercostal in New Smyrna with the most beautiful scenic views, Outriggers is the perfect place to enjoy a meal and a cocktail while watching the sunset. While we were there we were entertained by several dolphins. We went on a Sunday late afternoon after spending the day at the beach. It was happy hour and most of the drinks, including the super strong ones, were half off. I had a Planters Punch which would have knocked my socks off if I was wearing any! The menu was clear that this drink was a 2 drink limit and honestly, I didn't need a second. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We ordered two appetizers, Fish Dip and Brussel Sprouts with candied bacon and balsamic glace, thatwere delicious. As we were finishing, our meals arrived. I had a burger with the same candied bacon which provided a sweet and spicy kick. I honestly think it was one of the best burgers I have ever had. The prices were very reasonable especially during happy hour where appetizers are also half off. I will surely be back and definitely recommend this place to everyone.

Food, atmosphere, service .... what more could you ask for. A resturant with a stringent detail for only the freshest of local caught seafood. A must for the out of towners and a regular stop for locals, and who would know better than the locals ..... all in all a great place:)

No doubt the view and atmosphere are fabulous but like many places with a view the food is lacking. If you're going for a drink the bar is really pretty good and as I said its a beautiful setting but the food is a different matter. The cerviche is overloaded with sweet red bell pepper and didn't have nearly enough acid. Certainly you expect a piquant flavor with a fish cooked via citrus but it was sorely lacking. The Mermaid special fish sandwich contained a juicy fried fish fillet smothered with a cole slaw overly laden with celery seed which put the flavor off. Had they gotten rid of the celery seed or put just a hint of the slaw on the sandwich it could have been saved. The broccoli salad was yummy. A sweet bacon cheese laced dressing lightly covered raw broccoli florets and it was great. The fried brussell sprouts were quite tasty but not special. Although I didn't try the calamari my neighbor at the bar ordered a plate and it looked awful! An anemic plate of rings that appeared to be from freezer to fryer. Since I'm a local I'll be back for another try but they have some work to do. Don't be fooled by the good looks!

Our first time here was great. Called ahead for seating. Had a great view. Waiter Marcus was very attentive. Appetizer we tried was fried green tomatoes, they were good. Husband had drunken mermaid fish sandwich with the broccoli salad. He said it was great. I tried the island fish sandwich with the broccoli salad. It was also excellent. We can't wait to return with more people next time.

Outside bartenders were awful! We waited 5 mins and never once did they acknowledge us so we went inside were we were greeted right away! The inside bartender was very attentive and friendly! Hopefully if we go again we can sit outside and receive service.

Freshest seafood in town. If you have not tried fresh Ambar Jack it makes a fantastic sandwich. Anything island style is awesome!

Wow...everything was great! We took advantage of the Happy Hour deal...1/2 price apps and drinks. The Crabcakes, Fat Kid's Fries, Fish Dip, Fried Green Tomatoes were fabulous! The Bloody Mary's are like nothing we have ever had...So Good! The service was exceptional. Julie was a wonderful and attentive waitress. We will be coming back often!

Really had a great meal here. Pork, fried fish, grouper, and crab cake were all very good. Great specials for happy hour. Service are good. Our waitress was working hard. All in all great meal

I just tried to make a reservation for Sunday, and was told that they needed a $25 deposit for the reservation. That is awful service. I frequent this establishment at least once every two weeks. They should be ashamed. They just lost my business. We traveled from Ormond Beach to eat here.

We have eaten their twice since moving here in August. This is one of my favorite places! Both times the food was excellent! Service has been great! Nice upscale Tiki Bar!

Perfect place to sit outside on the water and enjoy a drink and some delicious, fresh fish or brunch while watching the boats and dolphins go by! Must try the Bloody Mary and the Drunken Mermaid Fish Sandwich is great too!

Just had lunch with 3 others. 3 blackened mahi and a grilled chicken sandwich. All came out cooked exactly right and at a very reasonable price. Environment is a cut above most other NSB establishments. Staff is still coming up to speed but very attentive. I would like to see this place hold up over time and will be a frequent flyer!

Beautiful new restaurant where u can sit inside or outside @ the tiki bar on the intercostal. I had the drunken mermaid fish sandwich w/ side of paradise rice-was so good! Then came the cheesecake-presentation was nicely done & it was delicious!! Lots of unique drinks w freshly squeezed juices. Check it out!

You can't go wrong eating at Outriggers. The menu is pretty diverse so there's something for everyone, and the food is always tasty. I am a Realtor and frequently work at the model home right next to Outriggers. I get a lot of customers who have just eaten at the restaurant before coming to my open houses ... I can promise you (I wouldn't write a rave review on Yelp otherwise) that not one person has ever had anything but great things to say about eating there (I always ask just to hear what people like and to make sure I'm not the only one who thinks it's excellent eating). Personally, I only sit outside when I dine here, so obviously the view/ambiance is always awesome. The goat cheese salad with shrimp or fish is fantastic! I've always had excellent service too. I'm excited to splurge on calories and try some of their more decadent dishes in the near future.

I work as a yacht captain and after a long day at sea, I'm constantly stuck pulling into some dumpy, greasy place with typical bar food. I was pleasantly surprised by the tricked up magic they have going on in the kitchen- brussel sprouts with hot bacon? Beer cheese & sausage? Service was great too- I'll be back.

Awesome food and one of the best bars we've been to in a while. They really know how to make up a zombie. Tiki tacos were great and the balsamic Brussels sprout appetizer were to die for.

  • Kristin S.

The fish was fresh, but under seasoned and over cooked. Got the blackened fish taco and bangin shrimp taco. Both with just a smattering of lettuce and too much mayo, made for a creamy bland-fest. Beautiful view of the marina and nice atmosphere though!

  • Harpeth K.

Beautiful setting but restaurant is lacking. Good restaurants do not serve precooked food, and this place surely does. Waitress, to her credit, did admit that the entree was precooked and not up to par. Waitress service was excellent, no complaint there. If I want precooked food, I will go to a fast food restaurant. Very poor selection of premium bottled beer. If you want your favorite you most likely will have to try the draft beer which seems to have an off taste.

This is a really pretty place! Especially the patio outside. I felt that the food was a bit overpriced for what it is but I would go here again.

A friend was visiting and wanted a place on the water. Against my better judgement, we went on Memorial Day. It was crowded but not packed. We were told to wait at the bar. We sat at the bar and waited, and waited and waited. I though we might throw ourselves on the ground to get a hello! Not even a, hey...be right with you....nothing.,finally we ordered a drink....and waited and waited and waited more. Boy we were thirsty! After our drinks were gone, no one refilled or offered to see if we wanted anything else....nothing. I saw other people being seated, lots of empty tables and checked with the hostess stand. Told we were almost at the top of the list. The table we ultimately were seated at had been empty and set for a good 15 minutes. The waitress finally came. Our floor took forever to arrive. My beer was warm as it took so long to arrive. She said she had no idea which bar the drinks would come from. Bad service, very unorganized and over priced. So sad such a great looking place is so poorly run.

Love the drinks, patio, and enviornment. Food was not fine, but priced too high. We had the green tomatoes for our app, it was very small and priced high. I had the crab cake for my meal and it was good, just pricey! I will most certainly return for the drinks and patio over looking all the boats.

  • M C.

Really nice looking bar, lots of TVs too. The view of the marina and water is really cool as well . The bad part is the service is just not up to par. We would probably have eaten but could only seem to get drink orders put in, and those had to be ordered twice... The guys at the bar seemed nice enough, just swamped. If you go - be patient and in no great hurry to get anything you order.

  • Scott L.

Got to be kidding me! Overpriced, poor ATTEMPT at food. One would expect a whole lot more from a new establishment with a nice setting. A few friends and I went in for lunch the other day and were ALL disappointed. Overcooked, dry fish to a barely acceptable burger. It's a shame, a place for a great opportunity that only needs a chef with passion.

Haven't been back to Out Riggers for a few months. Revisited last Sunday evening. Overall rating is good. Not great. Food seems good. Wait staff is terrible. No attention to detail. No return to table to check on us. Had to flag down an assistant manager to get another round of drinks!!. - not that busy so have no idea where the wait staff was hiding. If this place could get the people part correct, it could be a real improvement.

I love this place. The atmosphere is great and very modern. Location is beautiful on a nice sunny day. My favorite thing to get is the drunken mermaid. All the staff is really friendly also! Mains thing to try if you are visiting NSB.

Very good food. Ambience is nice but the overhead spotlights at night make you feel like someone is shining a super-bright flashlight on your food. Kinda weird. Have been there 3 times but will likely never return. The service has been horrible each time and one time we had to wait over an hour for our food. Waiter was kinda "punk" and acted like he could care less. Finally complained to the manager and his attitude was even worse. This place won't last long. There are plenty of fine restaurants in the New Smyrna Beach area. This isn't one of them.

Apps were fantastic. My fish sandwich was excellent. Salad was not very good the dressing was exceptionally salty. Our server was terrible but rest of the group was very nice. The fried green tomato stack was excellent

Would have been 5 stars for the food alone but the reviews are correct in that they haven't figured out the service side of the restaurant industry which is too bad as the food is fantastic. Basics on service - the hostess's don't seem happy to greet you and they seem to have more than 2 hostesses outside (where it's loud)... I would eliminate the outside hostess station and move inside to start avoiding the bar and patrons distracting them ... The girls seemed distracted by all the bar activities, people, taking a lot ...Some basic training that being friendly and FAST is what will drive sales and tips (I can only assume the workers there really don't need a job or care about the tips to improve service and that the owners place no emphasis on). Two, when a table empties, have a bus boy/girl (or two or three) whose purpose is to quickly clean and set the table)... We saw many tables sit empty and dirty for 10 minutes (more revenue down the drain)... When we were seated with the menus, it was 10 minutes plus before a waiter stopped by and asked if anyone had helped us yet (obviously wait staff not assigned tables and they don't appear to help each other out at all)... No system... Drink orders were slow to arrive in fact after 20 minutes the waiter said that he would reorder the drinks from inside since the outside bar ignored him...need to find out how to expedite as thats where the money is)... The waiter was actually friendly but simply untrained... We ordered two appetizers and after the main courses were delivered without the appetizers rather than apologizing and expediting, he simply stated "I can take the appetizers off the bill for you" and repeated twice... No teamwork between employees...We had the exact same issues a year ago with no improvement so either management and owners don't care about making more money or simply don't know what they are doing... Start by having a one day training session from some outside help and get rid of anyone who doesn't pull their weight (get rid of those that are there for the social aspects versus needing tip money to live)... The bartenders were average and more attentive to their friends sort of almost looking down or avoiding eye contact with others unless you stand there for 5 minutes as I did...Having said all of that, The FOOD and the Atmosphere is Amazing... You could genuinely have a 5 star restaurant if you cared enough to bring in outside consultants to help with your operations and service... I'll continue to return annually for the food but would be stopping there a few times when visiting versus once if service improved... Here's another note to the owner, I've been in the food industry and have run into this issue with other restaurants before, and if you have employees who are not caring about providing fast top notch service I bet you money that some of them are probably robbing you blind through free drinks, over pours, heavy discounts, pocketing cash (aside from robbing you of profit through poor speed and service, although that's your fault not theirs! Fix it ! Get some outside help)

Not sure if I was at the same restaurant as the previous reviews. Food was okay but not spectacular. Appetizer of green tomatoes was okay but small, tomato soup tasted like canned product. Service was inconsistent. They were out of glasses so my beer refill was brought out in a plastic cup and placed on table.....had to pour it myself into the real glass. Entrees of the drunken fish sandwich were good. Overall, it was ok but not as great as the other reviews would lead you to believe.

ROUGHAGE is how the salad offerings are listed. Really? I mean, why not call just call it COLON BLOW? Or how about FAT ASS instead of DESSERT? Spectacularly bad service on a Friday night. We ordered apps that were served with no utensils. We finally got them after we had finished eating with our fingers and it was not finger food. The first person in our party of four was served 10 minutes before the second entree came and then it was another 10 minutes before the last two entrees were served. When asked for another fork, our server brought us a bottle of Tabasco instead. No fork ever came. The $21 tile fish entree was described as "tough". It was actually delicious but was served with a watery queso sauce that was weird and unnecessary and the large plate had a big empty spot where the vegetable ought to have been. I have seen better presentation at charity potlucks. Servers and host staff had absolutely no hospitality or f & b skills. The food was good and the location is beautiful, but I can't say it's worth it to go back. They need a manager and staff training in a big way. Go to Dolphin View instead.

Very nice atmosphere and great wait staff. Food was good but portions are a bit small for the price.. Fat kid fries are to die for!! Outside hostess was more concerned about her hair and taking selfies than she was doing her job. Will definitely go back :)

Great experience! I was here earlier this year for lunch. The meal was average, but the service wasn't good at all. It has taken me months to return. That said, my husband and I had a great dinner tonight. Our waiter was very attentive. They were slammed, but they had enough staff to give great service. We both had fish. My husband had the mahi fish sandwich, blackened. I had one of the special local fish, the wahoo, grilled. Both were cooked perfectly. The wahoo came with an interesting side, fried grits with a cheese sauce. It was actually pretty good. The cheese sauce was not heavy, but tasted like macaroni and cheese. The grits were served as a square patty. It was unusual, but good. I'm not usually one to eat a lot of rice, potato or pasta sides, but I was intrigued as I have eaten southern fish and grits before. I wasn't disappointed. The atmosphere is very casual with indoor and outdoor seating. There is also a large covered outdoor bar that is very popular. All in all, a very nice experience.

We had lunch on a recent weekday. It was very busy. Great service. Excellent fish tacos and chicken pot pie. The slightly grilled romaine heads in the Caesar salad were tasty. One of the nicer atmospheres for restaurants in New Smyrna.

I visited yesterday 2/10 with a girlfriend. Lovely views and fabulous décor. We sat on the outside deck and enjoyed the scenery. Our waiter was the short, dark haired, young man tending bar, with a sleeve of tattoos. He was attentive and polite. I ordered the Drunken Fish sandwich and my friend had the fish tacos. Everything was excellent and just pulled fresh from the water... but I did receive the plain fish sandwich instead of the Drunken Fish that I had ordered. But it was still so good that I didn't complain or ask for a correction. We decided it was so rare to have such incredibly fresh fish that we brought my husband along and came back again on 02/11. Again, the fish sandwiches were incredible!! They got my order correct this time and it was heavenly. There are 2 reasons I did not give them 5 stars: 1. We had a female waitress this time. She was young and had an attitude from the beginning. Not sure if she was having a bad day or its just her personality. 2. My first glass of chardonnay was the house wine. When I ordered my 2nd glass, the waitress right away says, "I'm sorry, we're out of that. Would you like the Cupcake Chardonnay?" First, a good waitress, if she knew they were out of the house that someone had been drinking, would have checked with the manager ahead of time and asked for approval to serve the next available wine at the same price. She did not do that. I asked her if she could and she made somewhat of a production about it. (Now mind you, there is only $1 difference between the house wine and Cupcake). So she takes her good 'ol time and finally the manager comes over. I explained that I had asked for the house wine, which they were out of and if I may have any other chardonnay at the same price. He very condescendingly says, "Sure, I'll cover that $1 for you," and walks off. We would give them one more chance, but regardless of how good the food might be, if the service is poor or arrogant, there are plenty of other places in town worth trying that would appreciate our business.

Went for happy hour and stayed for dinner. Happy hour prices and specials were very reasonable. Our server was not great. The menu does not list what is in the drinks. When I asked what was in some of the drinks she had absolutely no clue, but even worse, she made things up and tried to wing it. I was very disappointed that their staff was so under-trained. Not a good reflection on the overall experience. The fish was very fresh and had good flavor. Our server misquoted the special so the ingredients received were not what she stated. Disappointing... Overall, we will try this again and hope for more knowledgeable wait staff.

The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because I felt the staff wasn't as customer friendly as it should be. As in they were a little stand off -ish. But I won't hold too much against them. Alot seemed new. The food was AMAZING, the drinks GREAT! The food was out quick and in a timely fashion. I didnt even have time to wonder where it was! I seriously was blown away by the food! It was my first time coming here and it wont be the last. Everything is worth the price!

Started with a round of drinks. They are pricey but nice and strong so no worries there. Ordered fried green tomatoes and the "fat kid fries." I was kinda surprised by how small the appetizers are. They're perfect for two people at the most but if you're here with a big party, like me, you're going to have to order a lot. I ordered the island style fish sandwich. It tasted pretty good. Island style means some kind of citrusy sauce, I guess. The piece of fish was kinda small but it was cooked perfectly and tasted fresh. The rest of my party ordered different menu items and seemed pretty pleased with everything. Overall, good food but kinda pricey. Definitely not aimed at the local crowd but if you're in the area it's worth checking out.

Overall good experience! I read a few reviews complaining about the mandatory valet parking... it does exist! However we just parked in a small lot next door and didn't have any problems. Staff is pleasant and attentive. The atmosphere is excellent! You are in a harbor with a great view. My only gripe is the size of the Mai Tai my girlfriend ordered. The drink cost us $8 and simply could have been drunk in one big sip! It was however, a perfect mix. I ordered the macaroni and cheese and was not disappointed! It was a nice blend of macaroni, shrimp, and sausage.

My friend and I stopped by for one drink at the Tiki Bar this evening. Nice location, BUT ... I ordered a beer and my buddy ordered a shot of Jameson Irish Whiskey on the rocks. This was the result: Beer: Kona Longboard Draft: $5.00. Not bad, I can live with that. One (1) x shot Jameson Irish Whiskey a the Tiki Bar: $10-. (TEN DOLLARS) Seriously? Yeah, I wondered too. So I did the math. 1) Jameson Irish Whiskey, 1 x 750 ml bottle, retail price at local ABC Liquors (Outriggers obviously don't pay retail for their liquor, but I'm trying to give them some leeway here): $24.99 2) I typical USA shot measurement = 44 ml 3) Therefore shots per 750ml bottle = 17 4) Therefore std retail price per shot = $24.99 / 17 = $1.47 *retail cost* 5) Outriggers price per shot: $10- 6) Markup = $10 - $1.47 = $8.53 7) Markup Profit Percentage = 580% That's FIVE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY PERCENT MARKUP. $6 or $7 is the standard price for a decent shot in our area. But $10?? Now THAT is a TOTAL RIPOFF. NOT COOL OUTRIGGERS.

Went for a late dinner. Location and interior were fantastic! Food was good, but not a menu for children or picky eaters. Service was deplorable - young staff was inattentive and unprofessional. At one point the servers were intentionally dropping the drink menus on the floor for others to pick up and laughing about it. We routinely tip 20%, but our service was so poor (refills slow, few table checks, request for condiments when food was brought out took 5 touches to get), that we only tipped 10%.

What a place!!! Bloody Mary's are a must!! We started with green fried tomatoes an then moved on to the goat cheese app. The fish tacos and fried fish platter was great. The FRESH fish is great. Oh did I say the Bloody Mary's are great. Third round of coarse!!!! Great Job Kevin.

We went to Outriggers today for the first time for lunch. It was fantastic! My wife had the calamari and it was very tender and tasty. I had the "drunken mermaid" and it was fantastic. Great atmosphere, view and food. We also appreciated the complementary valet parking.

Outriggers Tiki Bar and Grill opened in December of 2013 as part the newly developed New Smyrna Marina. In addition to the restaurant, the marina offers boat slips, a fishing store and there are currently a handful of "Key West" style houses being built. We were invited to visit Outriggers and we were excited to see what they had to offer. Although it was a beautiful sunny day, we opted to eat inside, though there are plenty of outdoor tables right on the water where you can watch the boats come and go. It was 2pm in the afternoon and the patio was packed. We were immediately greeted by the Director of Operations Ian. A very personable and friendly guy, he talked us through the menu, not only pointing out the most popular items but also his personal favorites. He ordered us two of the most crowd-pleasing appetizers- the Sprouts with Candied Bacon and the Fried Green Tomato Stack. First, the sprouts. Yes, we don't eat pork very often, if ever, but I was excited to try the candied bacon with the brussel sprouts. The bacon was just a sidenote however. The flavor of the sprouts spoke for themselves. They were beefy, hearty and very lightly fried. Maybe it's because I love brussel sprouts, maybe it's because restaurants rarely serve them, whatever it was I absolutely loved them. The balsamic drizzle added a little sweetness to the sprouts. Even if you think you don't like brussel sprouts, you will love these. Then we tried the Fried Green Tomato Stack. Fried green tomatoes are one of our most favorite appetizers- we tend to order them everywhere we go and we have had some great ones and we've had some not-so-great ones. However, this version at Outriggers was above the great ones- by far the best I have ever had. The tomatoes themselves were plump and juicy. They were lightly fried in a crispy batter which only added to its Heavenly factor. The tomatoes were stacked on top of each other, with a dollop of a goat and cream cheese mixture between each. They were placed on a plate drizzled with a balsamic glaze and a spicy remoulade sauce. My mouth is watering just writing about them. Ian also ordered us the Tiki Tacos which are sold a la carte. He brought us a pulled pork version as well as blackened fish. The pork was piled high on a soft flour tortilla with cheese and that spicy remoulade sauce that came with the tomatoes. And again, even though we don't eat pork, Ian said this was one of his most popular items on the menu so we had to give it a try. While I don't miss bacon all that much, I do miss pulled pork. This pork was so tender it melted in my mouth. The blackened fish soft taco was quite tasty as well. A mild whitefish was lightly blackened and placed a top of bed of fresh guacamole and coleslaw. It was then drizzled with a ranch dressing. For only $3 a pop, you cold easily make an inexpensive but filling meal out of the tacos. However, we still had more food to come. Chad had the Drunken Mermaid Fish Sandwich, an item Ian says he sells 50-100 of them a day. A white fish filet, lightly blackened, served on a bun with provolone cheese, coleslaw and a spicy remoulade sauce. Also topped with crisp lettuce and juicy tomatoes, we could easily understand why this is one of the more popular menu choices. I had a heard time deciding between the Fish N Waffle and the Fish N Grit Cakes. Fried Chicken and Waffles have become all the rage lately and I loved the idea of replacing the chicken for fried fish. However, the waffle was actually a bacon waffle, and while that sounds amazing, I opted for the Fish N Grit Cakes. The fish I had was called Golden Tile, which I had never even heard of let alone tried before. Ian explained it is a rather rare fish with a very short season, unlike a Mahi Mahi which can be fished almost year round. It was, however, similar to a Mahi Mahi fish in that it was light and flaky. The Golden Tile was grilled and topped with a cheese sauce. Interesting, I have never really thought of topping fish with cheese but this worked, very well I might add. The grits were delicious as well. These weren't your diner style grits, these were fried up into a golden cake and topped with cheese in addition to the cheese sauce. Absolutely wonderful. The grits cake could have stood on its own without all the cheese, as the Golden Tile might have benefitted without the sauce as well. It was a tasty dish, though not my favorite of everything we tried. We sampled some of the sides as well, my favorite being the broccoli salad. They also offer tater tots, rice pilaf, coleslaw and asparagus in addition to a few other sides. And of course, we couldn't leave without dessert. A few of the dessert choices included Key Lime Pie and Chocolate Fondue. The cheesecake was infused with thyme and topped with toasted walnuts. Definitely worth saving room for.

So I went here once and my mind was blown! The absolute best Bloody Mary I have ever had!! Not only was the drink fantastic but the bacon, the shrimp, the beer on the side and the view made it truly complete! I had a few more drinks after that and was impressed with everyone of them! Love it!

Had dinner on the patio last night & the fans keep it cool even in August. Had beer, and black bean & corn appetizer that was a nice way to begin the evening. My husband had the Drunken a Mermaid with a side of broccoli salad and really enjoyed it. I had the blackened fish tacos and they were cooked just right. This is a place we will visit whenever we are in the area.

I have been to outriggers several times since it opened. The quality of food, drink and service has went down hill. If you are wanting to be over charged for average food and poor service you are at the right place. The view is spectacular so I would have a beer and enjoy it. Drinks are over priced and inconsistent. They are not worth the money

This is a tiki bar only insofar as they make some strong drinks. Judge Smails would be comfortable here, with its forced valet (which thankfully wasn't operating when I visited) and country club atmosphere. It felt like a casual Four Seasons to me. You know what though? That's pretty damn nice. The food was awesome. We all got different fish dishes and they were all cooked wonderfully. Service was attentive and the view was nice. I'd return.

Great location. Inviting atmosphere. Amazing food and drinks. Friendly and welcoming staff (they even reopened the kitchen for us...party of 6) and they didn't rush us out at closing time :) Overall: everything exceeded expectations. We will definitely return!

After a fun morning of paddleboarding with girlfriends, one of them recommended this place for lunch. It surely did not disappoint. First of all, they offer complimentary valet parking (don't forget to tip) but I'm a little protective of my car so I opted to self park a little further away and walk since the connecting self parking lot was full Just a heads up. This place is a much nicer restaurant than I was expecting but by no means was it stuffy and uppity. Since they're so close to the beach, shorts and flip flops seem to be normal attire. We were a group of 10 and they gave us huge picnic table seating outside in a breezeway that was covered from the sun. It actually worked out perfectly. Their menu is an array of lots of fun cocktails and fresh seafood items. Some of the more popular house made cocktails are pricey because you get to take home the souvenir glass that it is served in. I had the SunSet Sangria which was served in a cool glass with a Tiki design....it cost me a pretty penny but a nice souvenir to commemorate the fun day! I also tried the fish dip that a few of my friends ordered and it was super yummy especially if you add a jalapeno slice on top! I ordered a grilled fish sandwich with fries . They dress it with lettuce and tomato and serve a mayo type sauce on the side if you want to add. It was good but not as fun tasting as some of my friends meals....The Fish and Grit cake sounds really interesting so that may be my pick for next time! Service was pretty attentive for a large party which is just another reason I would surely come back again. Also, this place is great for group pictures with the water in the background. This place really makes me think I'm in a tropical paradise!

I really enjoy Outriggers! I have made two visits here and both left me quite happy. I live in Orlando so making the trip up to NSB doesn't happen as often as I would like. On both occasions I have visited I have tried a variety of different foods and drinks. Thus far I have really enjoyed everything that I put in my mouth. The fish tacos are so awesome, the fried shrimp are huge, the fish sandwich is super tasty and the brunch items... Amazing. My boyfriend ordered the Elvis waffles and my Mom ordered the grit cake with a side of cheese sauce- both were stupid good. The drink menu is just as delightful. Go there, order away, and wash it all down with a Zombie. These three steps will make for a great day or night!

"The table we are at is a little loud with the band on the deck. Can we move to one of these empty tables over here so we can hear our conversations?" I politely asked the nice hostess. "I think so let me ask my manager" said the nice hostess. "Nope, my manager said he can't since we are too busy" said the nice hostess. "I'm not busy I can take care of you guys" said a nice waitress. Kevin, the clueless manager, comes over to explain that they are too busy and he had reservations and can't move us to the three very empty tables. He didn't understand our very simple math equation of one four top switching to another empty four top. Our conversation was spinning in circles with Kevin so we cancelled our order and went to a different restaurant.

So I've been tracking this place on Instagram for a while and I drool over their food pics all the time. Tonight did not disappoint! I was in the area after the beach and ready to chill out. This place is perfect for relaxing. They have complimentary valet, but I parked across the way near the boat ramp. It looked like there was a mini valet line forming. There is indoor seating that is very pleasant, or outdoor bar and deck seating right on the intracoastal water way. No matter where you sit, the place is nice. Tried the house bloody mary garnished with candied bacon, a shrimp, lime wedge, and two green olives. The glass was rimmed with a salty-sweet red pepper topping that was just phenomenal, spicy and sweet. The Bloody Mary comes with a sidecar of Sam Adams in little four ounce cup, it's just nice to sip along with the Bloody Mary...it just works! For dinner I had the drunken mermaid fish sandwich (best name ever!) with marinaded mahi mahi, melted provolone, remoulade sauce, and topped with cole slaw. Loved it and the dining atmosphere here was nice-dim lights, funky music and just this über chill vibe in the air. This is going to be my new summer hangout! Can't wait to go back for more bloody marys and try the fish dip here too. Hello summertime!

Went here with family for my birthday recently! Mile high shrimp salad was fresh and tasty! Can't beat the view of the intercoastal! This may be my new favorite dining establishment! Our waitress took care of business!

Iced tea was like drinking water. Blackened fish tacos were bland. Pulled pork sandwich and the ability to sit next to the marina were the only aspects that made lunch worthwhile.

The food itself is just fine. I've had much better in NSB but it's not bad. What you really pay for is the on the water location. The biggest issue I've had every single visit is the staff. It's amazing how little anyone cares about taking care of guests. I like to think we are usually a pretty easy going, fun table. I mean, anytime we are in NSB, we are usually there to relax! Watching our severs socialize and blatantly hang out while you're waiting to order a drink for over 10 minutes, and then get thrown some attitude, just kills my vibe (the view does help, slightly!) Bottom line: If you're looking for a fun outdoor bar to spend Sunday Funday, this is the place. If you're looking for a great place to enjoy a great meal, NSB has better.

Palm trees, crab cakes and five dollar mojitos - what more could you want in a summer evening? You'll find all this and more at Outriggers Tiki Bar and Grille in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. One step inside Outriggers, located in the New Smyrna Marina, and you'll start to wonder if you are still in NSB. Don't get me wrong, I love the charm and small town feel of New Smyrna, but I think we can all agree that it's no Palm Beach or Miami. But, Outriggers is quickly becoming the best kept secret for waterfront dining....without enduring the lines at JB's Fishcamp. The crab cakes we ordered first were perfectly crisp and plump all at once. It's hard to find a good crab cake especially when you have high expectations from a seafood restaurant. So many crab cakes I've tasted remind me of cat food, and that's never a good sensation for you palate. While ordering our starters, we also ordered some fabulous five-dollar mojitos. I'm not a mojitos drinker personally, but there's noting better than sipping on a good drink, gazing at the water and realizing that you have a whole day ahead of you before heading back to your cubicle. Even if you're not terribly hungry, the crab cakes are worth trying before your main course. I was slightly disappointed with my entrée, but I guess that's what you get for ordering tacos instead of fresh fish caught from the ocean that day. Most of my party ordered the Drunken Mermaid Fish Sandwich with grilled and marinated fish from local waters covered in their signature slaw, remoulade and melted provolone. I know, right? It's worth a trip back to order that sandwich or the Fish of the Moment, prepared fried or broiled. Ask your server what was just swimming and that's what will arrive on your plate. You can also bring your own filed fish and the kitchen will cook the piece to your liking. Sounds strange but there's a fabulous vendor at the NSB farmers' market every Saturday that sells the world's best fish caught in local waters. We finished our meal with some pretty tasty key lime pie, and yes more mojitos. Hey, they were only five dollars and it was a Saturday night. I'd highly recommend Outriggers for anyone looking to dine on the water and avoid the never ending lines at Boston's and JB's this weekend. Cheers to fresh seafood and Independence Day!

Hidden gem. Free valet parking. Food was fresh and tasty. I had the Island Fish Sandwich and ate every bite. Also had the Black Bean and Corn salsa, which was delicious.

Tried this restaurant for the first time when we went to NSB for a few days. We started out with fried green tomatoes, which were very good. My main entree was mac & cheese with shrimp. By the name, I thought the shrimp came IN the mac & cheese, but it comes on the side. Not really a big deal, however I thought the portions were pretty small. It was fine for me, buy my husband was still hungry (he got the same dish). My biggest complaint about this restaurant is the valet parking. It irritates me when I have to valet park my car when there is an entire open parking lot right there. Literally, the valet took our car and parked it 20 feet from where we dropped it off. There was no option other than to valet park. I'd say we got there around 6p or so. Around 7p, the valet walks up to our table, tells us he is closing and hands up the keys. Seriously?? If you are going to force me to valet at least have the courtesy to stay open until we are finished with our dinner. Will try this place again.

Outriggers Tiki Bar and Grille is a new casual but slightly upscale eatery in New Smyrna Beach that is part of a brand new multipurpose marina. It's really an all in one spot that has everything from boat parking to boat rentals and they also have fishing and supplies store. You can even clean your fish at the upscale cleaning station...and then bring your catch in to Outriggers and they will cook it for you. Outriggers seeks to be more than just another casual fried fish eatery, and more than just a bar. After all...New Smyrna Beach has plenty of biker bars. The food here has flair and style. Sure you can get your basic fried fish, but Outriggers is really aiming to take their food up a few notches in area that is pretty devoid of gourmet offerings. The menu is full of great eats served in traditional and not so traditional styles. You can get a traditional fried calamari, or you can opt for sprouts with candied bacon for a starter. For main courses there is plenty of fish available served in a variety of ways along with hamburgers and other sandwich offerings, but if you kick it up a notch you may want to order the Fish and Waffle or the Fish and Grit Cakes. They take drinks pretty seriously here as well.

We had a large party and because of the reviews I was prepared for great food and lousy service. We were seated promptly and got settled in. We were greeted and turned in drink orders right away. Our server was training someone and her trainee was helpful and not just shadowing his trainer. The server was very knowledgable about the menu and the ingredients in their dishes. I ordered the fresh catch flounder island style. Very tasty! My sides were really tasty too. The paradise rice was really good and my broccoli salad was a great compliment to the meal. For our large party we had no complaints- good food all the way around. The only complaint was the wait after the meal. We waited and waited for the check. We finally found a staff member and asked for the check. Very good food and a very nice place.

All I can say is wow!!!! great friendly service, FANTASTIC BLOODY MARYS(which comes with a side of Sam Adams), great food (I got the drunken mermaid) and great atmosphere and view of the water. I'm from Connecticut so next time I'm in Florida I most definitely will be coming here again!

The accepted facts on this place are great location, sorry service, very poor management. After a half dozen visits, I conclude this outfit simply does not care about their customers or business. On a recent visit the barmaid was sullen and completely inattentive to the customers, preferring long talks with one of the worthless managers. Had to get bus boy to get her attention for a drink. They get so many tourists and clueless snow birds that they can get by with this style of management. I would venture a guess that their drink business would double if better management.

Wow talk about extremes. First visit we had a waiter that would probably have gone and caught a fish with his hands if we asked him to. Second visit holy God! What happened??? Sat at the bar, greeted quickly and ordered wine and appetizer. Arrived with the wine and asked that I give them a credit card. Told them I was not going to give them a card before I received food (not sure if this is a trend, but I don't like it. There were only about 6 people sitting at the bar and I like to think I'm pretty responsible looking). Said I would pay cash. They then said, DO YOU HAVE SOME CASH WE CAN HOLD!!! Are you frigging serious? Told them hell no and was ready to walk out but they agreed to allow me to dine without pre-payment! Whatever! Finished appetizer and waited several minutes trying to get attention of the bar hacks cleaning up to "get out of here" (9pm on a Friday night, I guess I was keeping them from their party night) Asked about fish available, they listed off what they had, asked for amber jack on a sandwich, was informed I could only CHOOSE a fish if I ordered a dinner plate, a sandwich was blind luck what I received. I asked if they were serious and the bar hag confirmed she was. Ordered the calamari instead. Arrived with only one of the two sauces, I immediately remembered that was the one dish I didn't like from the first visit because it came straight from Costco. WHAT THE HELL? I'll give you one more chance in a few weeks.

Still have some work to do on the food. Drinks are fairly priced and view is fantastic. I will definitely come back for drinks and look forward to sunsets. Calamari was pretty puny unfortunately. The rings were very skinny. Sauces were good. Overall flavor was good but the skinny rings don't cut it. The fish and waffle was too interesting to not try. Not as good as a fried chicken and waffle (in my opinion), but the fried fish (likely Mahi) was done nicely with some peppers. The syrup is maple with a bit of a spicy kick. I liked it - but not for the price. Really too expensive for fish on a waffle with peppers. The Mermaid fish sandwich came out with a tiny piece of fish and a mount of coleslaw on a bun. Again, good quality fish but too pricey for the amount of food. If the prices and portions hold, then I can see us going for drinks but probably not many meals. Fantastic view and they are relatively new, so we will be back and give it another try. I expect the parking will become an issue when it gets busier.

Thanks to someone giving a bad review of the first restaurant we chose they suggested Outriggers. Beautiful seating at the marina, with impeccable food and service. Definitely a new favorite spot!

Went on a Sunday and sat at the bar with my girlfriend. Food was OK (but how can you screw up deep fried fish). However the service was atrocious. I was told to "hold on" while the bartender/ our server continued to joke with another party when we were clearly ready to order. They completely got my girlfriend's order wrong and still attempted to charge her for the wrong order as well as added several extra items we didn't even order to the ticket. We had to ask multiple times for our things. The staff didn't even try to make amends when we were clearly upset. Will defiantly not be back.
